Ancient Aleppo

The Ancient City of Aleppo (Arabic: مدينة حلب القديمة, romanized: Madīnat Ḥalab al-Qadīma) is the historic center of Aleppo, Syria. Before the Syrian Civil War, many areas of the ancient city had remained nearly the same since they were built between the 11th and 16th centuries. Because of repeated invasions and political problems, people in the city created separate, self-sufficient neighborhoods and districts.
