Thungyai–Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuaries is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thailand. It includes two nearby sanctuaries: Thung Yai Naresuan and Huai Kha Khaeng. These areas are located in Kanchanaburi, Tak, and Uthai Thani provinces. They are part of Thailand's Western Forest Complex. The site was added to the World Heritage list in 1991.
The sanctuaries cover more than 600,000 hectares (1,500,000 acres) near the border with Myanmar. They are still in good condition and have many types of forests found in Southeast Asia. The area is home to a wide variety of animals. It includes 77% of the large mammals, such as elephants and tigers, 50% of the large birds, and 33% of the land vertebrates in this region.
