The northern part of the Moldavia region in Romania has kept many religious buildings. These buildings show the Moldavian architectural style that started in the 14th century.
Among these, eight Romanian Orthodox Churches in Suceava County were built from the late 15th century to the late 16th century. These churches are listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1993. The Church of the Resurrection inside the Sucevița Monastery was added to the site in 2010. The churches have their outside walls covered with real and special fresco paintings. These paintings show full sets of religious stories.
