Uvs Lake Basin

Uvs Lake Basin, also called Uvs Nuur Basin or Ubs Nuur Basin (Mongolian: Увс нуурын хотгор), is a basin that does not drain into the ocean. It is located on the border between Mongolia and Tuva, a region in Russia. The basin is part of the Central Asian Internal Drainage Basin and is named after Uvs Lake (Uvs Nuur, Ubsu Nur), a large salty lake in the western part of its area.

‘Uruq Bani Ma’arid

Uruq Bani Ma’arid (Arabic: عروق بني معارض) is a protected area in southern Saudi Arabia. It is located on the western edge of the Rub’ al Khali, which is the largest sandy desert in the world. The protected area has three parts: a special area for nature, a zone where limited grazing is allowed, and a hunting area.

Rhine Gorge

The Upper Middle Rhine Valley is the 65 km (40 mi) southern part of the Middle Rhine, located between Koblenz and Rüdesheim in the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. It was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in June 2002 due to its natural beauty as a cultural landscape, its role as a major transportation route across Europe, and the special way buildings and terraces were designed to fit the steep slopes of the gorge. The area’s rocks were formed during the Devonian period and are called Rhenish Facies.

Umm ar-Rasas

Umm ar-Rasas (Arabic: أم الرّصاص; ancient name: Kastron Mefa’a) is located 30 kilometers southeast of Madaba in the Amman Governorate in central Jordan. It was once connected to the King’s Highway, a major ancient road, and is part of the Jordanian Desert’s semi-arid steppe region. The site is linked to the biblical settlement of Mephaat mentioned in the Book of Jeremiah.

Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia. The park includes two major landmarks: Uluru and Kata Tjuta. It is located 1,943 kilometers (1,207 miles) south of Darwin by road and 440 kilometers (270 miles) southwest of Alice Springs along the Stuart and Lasseter Highways.

Ujung Kulon National Park

Ujung Kulon National Park (Indonesian: Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon) is a national park located at the westernmost part of Java. It is in the Sumur District of Pandeglang Regency, which is part of Banten province in Indonesia. The park once included the volcanic islands of Krakatoa in Lampung province, but current maps show the Krakatoa islands as a separate protected area called the Pulau Anak Krakatau Marine Nature Reserve.

uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park

The uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park is a protected area in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. It covers 2,428.13 km² (938 sq mi) and is part of the Maloti-Drakensberg Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park includes Royal Natal National Park, a provincial park, and covers part of the Drakensberg, a high land area with the highest elevations in southern Africa.

Tire

A tire (North American English) or tyre (Commonwealth English) is a ring-shaped part that covers a wheel’s rim. It helps move a vehicle’s weight from the axle through the wheel to the ground and provides traction for the wheel to roll on surfaces. Most tires, like those on cars and bicycles, are filled with air.

Twyfelfontein

Twyfelfontein, which means “uncertain spring” in Afrikaans, is officially called ǀUi-ǁAis in Damara andNama languages, meaning “jumping waterhole.” It is a place with ancient rock carvings located in the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia. The site includes a spring in a valley surrounded by the sides of a sandstone table mountain that receives very little rain and experiences large differences in temperature between day and night. People have lived at Twyfelfontein for about 6,000 years.

Tusi Sites

The Tusi Sites (Chinese: 土司遗址; pinyin: Tǔsī Yízhǐ) are three ancient locations in China that were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 3, 2015. This makes them China’s 48th World Heritage Site. These sites are found in the mountainous regions of Southwest China and show the unique tusi system of government that lasted from the 13th to the 20th centuries.
