Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tanzania. It is located in the Ngorongoro District, 180 kilometers west of Arusha City in the Arusha Region, within the Crater Highlands of northeastern Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera found there.

Nan Madol

Nan Madol is an ancient site located next to the east side of the island of Pohnpei, which is now part of the Madolenihmw district in Pohnpei state of the Federated States of Micronesia in the western Pacific Ocean. Nan Madol was the capital of the Saudeleur dynasty until about 1628. The city was built in a lagoon and includes a group of small man-made islands connected by a system of canals.

Mtskheta

Mtskheta (Georgian: მცხეთა [mt͡sʰχetʰa]) is a city in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Georgia. It is one of the oldest cities in the world that has been continuously inhabited. It is located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Tbilisi, where the Kura and Aragvi rivers meet.

Mountain railways of India

The Mountain Railways of India are railway lines that run in the mountain areas of India. The term mainly refers to narrow-gauge railways in specific locations, but it can also include some broad-gauge railways in mountainous regions. Three railways—the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, and the Kalka–Shimla Railway—are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name “Mountain Railways of India.” Two other railways, the Matheran Hill Railway and the Kangra Valley Railway, are on UNESCO’s tentative list of potential World Heritage Sites.

Minaret of Jam

The Minaret of Jam (Pashto: د جام منار, Dari: منار جام) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in western Afghanistan. It is located in a remote and hard-to-reach area of the Shahrak District, Ghor Province, between the Jam and Hari Rivers. The minaret, which is about 62 meters (203 feet) or 65 meters (213 feet) tall, was built around 1190.

Maputo National Park

Maputo National Park is a protected area in Mozambique, situated on Maputo Bay, about 100 kilometers southeast of the city of Maputo. The park covers an area of 1,718 square kilometers (663 square miles) and is located in the Matutuíne District of Maputo Province. It also includes part of Inhaca Island, which is near the city of Maputo.

Mahabodhi Temple

The Mahabodhi Temple, also known as the Mahābodhi Mahāvihāra, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. It is an ancient Buddhist temple that has been restored. The temple marks the location where the Buddha is said to have gained enlightenment.

Landscapes of Dauria

The Landscapes of Dauria is a World Heritage Site shared by Russia and Mongolia. It is part of the Daurian forest steppe ecoregion, which also extends into northeastern China. This area is part of the Dauria International Protected Area and includes the Torey Lakes.

Necropolis of Kerkouane

The Necropolis of Kerkouane is an ancient burial site located about 1.5 kilometers (0.93 miles) northwest of the Punic city of Kerkouane in northeastern Tunisia. The necropolis includes a group of vaults built into a seaside hill, four main chamber tombs, and a surrounding area where people were buried. In 1985, UNESCO declared Kerkouane and its necropolis a World Heritage Site because the remains are the only surviving example of a Phoenicio-Punic city.

Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex

The Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex (Thai: กลุ่มป่าแก่งกระจาน) is the official name of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thailand. It includes parts of Kaeng Krachan, Kui Buri, and Chaloem Phrakiat Thai Prachan national parks, as well as Mae Nam Phachi Wildlife Sanctuary. These areas are located in the provinces of Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, and Prachuap Khiri Khan in Western Thailand, near the border with Myanmar.
