The City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto is a World Heritage Site in Italy. It protects buildings designed by the architect Andrea Palladio. UNESCO added the site to the World Heritage List in 1994. At first, the site was named "Vicenza, City of Palladio." It included only buildings near Vicenza.
The original site included different types of buildings, such as the Basilica Palladiana, Teatro Olimpico, and buildings in the city of Vicenza. It also had a few villas nearby. However, most of Palladio's remaining villas were not part of the site. In 1996, the site was expanded to include more areas. The current name shows that it now includes all Palladian Villas in the Veneto region.
The site also includes some religious buildings, like the small church in Maser. There are 47 Palladian buildings listed in the UNESCO list in the Veneto region.
Another important group of buildings designed by Palladio is found in Venice, which is also a World Heritage Site. Venice has notable examples of religious buildings by Palladio, such as the San Giorgio Maggiore church.
